Live Chat is now available on the website. You can find the button on the bottom of the website in the lower right-hand corner. Live chat will be available to answer sales and basic support questions.

At this time, Live Chat will not be available 24/7. If by chance we’re offline, please open a regular ticket and we’ll respond as soon as possible.

Live chat is a great thing to implement for any business really. If you need quick help and you don’t have time to deal with the phone it is speedy and offers quick results which is what most online shoppers are looking for.

I agree Oldans. I’ve used it a couple of times on support sites and it is much easier than sitting on a phone pushing numbers to get to the right person. Then you have to wait on hold for 10 minutes before anyone picks up. Most of the time you are on the computer anyway.

It’s even more convenient given that most smart phones today are capable of running a browser that will access live support chat like that. It means that you can handle your issues while you go about your other business.

I hadn’t thought of it that way Abigail. I was wondering how many people actually access the chat versus the ticket system? If you use your smartphone it would certainly be more convenient to move around the office.

I cannot handle sitting on hold while I wait for someone to pick up that then transfers me to someone else that might be able to help me. Being able to use most chats either on a PC or my mobile devices is a true blessing when you have quick questions.

Could you really manage a chat support window in the tiny space that a smart phone gives you? I’m not sure that I could cope with trying to work that much on a small device, I like my full monitor still.

I certainly have done in the past, but it’s not ideal. A lot of these will have a mobile interface that defaults into use when you are on a mobile device, and that makes it more usable.

I’ve been there before, waiting for twenty minutes for a live person to come on the phone, spend half an hour talking and then calling back if the solution doesn’t work. It’s all very frustrating and I love the live chat function. Hopefully you will have it working 24/7 soon enough.

This is useful for so much more than just not having time to make a phone call. The last time I had to use live chat it was because I was at work so though I had time to do it, a call would have not been appropriate.

What are the hours for your Live Chat, between 9:00 and 5:00? That should be sufficient for most people who run businesses or home-based businesses. Since you have the ticket open all the other hours of the day, the few people who need help will still receive it.

I agree. Most people are working between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. so it is a reasonable time to have the live chat available. I think every business offering a service where clients may need extra help or problem solving should have the live chat available on their website.

Life chat is a great addition to any site. I prefer sites that have live chat. A lot of people don’t like to make phone calls so being able to talk to someone through chat is beneficial.
