Is PayPal the main option? I prefer to pay via credit (debit) card when possible. This let’s me set it for a monthly option. I hate the way PayPal does subscriptions (it always seems like more of a pain than a gain).

I use Paypal a lot for most of my business dealings. I don’t find it that difficult to set up and once it is up I don’t need to worry about it.

I use it almost daily, between ordering things for work or for personal stuff but I tend to keep things like a recurring charge on my credit cards because if I am dealing with a new place I want the added security that Visa offers. I would love if PayPal rolled out with a better buyer protection plan.

I thought they had a buyer protection plan with PayPal, Oldans. Isn’t there a grace period or window that you can ask for a refund because of bad service?

Most of my clients pay through PayPal so it is more convenient for me to use PayPal as a payment option. I rarely use my credit card for paying.

WIth PayPal in place then credit card payments are possible, you don’t have to have a PayPal account in order to use it. I think that’s the biggest advantage to it.

I have to agree that this is a wonderful feature. I know that other payment processors (such as WorldPay) also allow one off debit card transactions, but with PayPal you kind of cover everything.

It seems to be the one that most people who aren’t so familiar with the online world will use. Possibly this is because of the association with eBay, and the fact that they are so closely integrated.

I just don’t understand the reluctance to use this payment, perhaps someone can explain? They say that they ‘had’ to offer it, like their hands were forced into doing so.

Well there have been some controversies associated with PayPal, and it’s left a bitter taste in some people’s mouth. There were incidents where PayPal has been viewed to be in the wrong, but ultimately we don’t know what the truth was as we weren’t involved.

Thank you for adding Paypal as an option for payment. I know that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but since so many people already have it, there is a definite element of convenience.

Now that I understand some of why people dislike PayPal, I just wanted to add this comment. Any time something becomes hugely popular and used by the vast majority of people, the chances of mishaps increases. People rarely discuss the positive experiences that they have, being ten times more likely to discuss the negatives. For that reason, I believe that PayPal is no more a problem than other payment processors, it simply is more popular and so these issues have cropped up more.

I completely agree with your comment. I’ve never had any issues with PayPal but I’ve known plenty individuals who have had numerous mishaps with them. Those mishaps have turned into a lot of negativity. Any company will make a mistake or two. Human error is something we all suffer from.

I like the option of being able to use PayPal as this is how some of my customers pay. Makes it easier to make payments as well. I’m not sure how many people are using this payment type and I know some people don’t like PayPal but for me it works.

PayPal certainly gets a bad rap from some of its former users, but we still occasionally use it for our clients that don’t have credit cards or any other forms of payment. The fees aren’t any different than those we have for our credit card purchases. Offering PayPal as an option is the smart way to go.

I never used PayPal much until recently. Now I use it for absolutely everything! I’m even trying to get a few of my clients to start using it more. I find PayPal to be an easy way to deal with sending and receiving money.
